About Me

Hi, I’m Matthania Americain!

Writing a book is tough, and you’ve gotten over the hardest part. A lot of things make a great book, but errors aren’t one of them.

That’s where I come in. A second set of eyes is exactly what you need when you want your words to come across exactly as you intended. After all, a cohesive, immersive, and error-free story is what your reader deserves.

By offering copyediting and proofreading services, I help fiction authors polish their words for increased readability. I have a knack for grammar, catching inconsistencies, and maintaining accuracy—all while preserving your unique voice.

Reading is my first love, and as an avid reader, I love immersing myself in a new world and diving deep into the stories authors create. As an editor, my goal is to help you bring that feeling to your readers.

I’ve had hours of professional editing training through ACES: The Society for Editing, the Editorial Freelancers Association, and Edit Republic. I edit an array of fiction genres and constantly hone my skills by taking new editing classes and staying updated with the constant changes in the English language and publishing industry.

I’m here to work with you, and together, we’ll give your reader their new favorite story.

Fun Facts

I’m from South Florida, born and raised. Books and food are my love languages. My favorite genres to read are fantasy, romance, thriller, and mystery. The tropes that make me swoon are second-chance and friends-to-lovers. When I’m not editing, I’m either reading, catching up on my favorite reality competition shows, or working my day job as a senior content editor for an online website.
